Desenvolvido pela iNiS, que trabalhou em "Elite Beat Agents" para Nintendo DS, The Hip Hop Dance Experience convida os jogadores a usarem o Wii Remote ou o Kinect para balançar o esqueleto ao som de músicas de artistas como Flo Rida, Chris Brown, Snoop Dogg, Run-DMC, Rihanna e outros.
The Hip Hop Dance Experience também traz modalidades multiplayer para desafiar os amigos, rotinas de dança desenvolvidas por coreógrafos profissionais, possibilidade de criar um avatar para representá-lo nas coreografias e outras opções.
